Trendsetting Lagoon 620 Enters Luxury Crewed Charter Market
The Catamaran Company recently announced two yacht purchases of the Lagoon 620. Both mega catamarans will be available for luxury crewed charter starting November 2010 in the Bahamas &/or Caribbean.

This is first model of its kind to be offered in the charter market in the Caribbean and Bahamas. A good reason to notify all Lagoon 620’s enthusiasts to get on charter first before it fills. This flagship catamaran will fill up quick!

A ‘wish come true’ for charter crew

Worth $2, 3million or more, this four cabin/or five cabin model can make a dream vacation a reality. Recently, experienced charter crew stated that the Lagoon 620 is a ‘wish come true’.
Crew will fight and compete to operat this catamaran in charter as she provides a perfect platform to entertain charter guests. The main reason being is the living space. It is comparable to a 100’ monohull and charter guests can enjoy large amount of living space between the cockpit, fly-bridge, transoms and salon. The galley is fully equipped and has double access from the salon or directly from the transom, a feature that has never yet been done before on a catamaran and perfect for crew to serve up those gourmet meals.

Charter Highlights

The 620’s is fashionable and ultra modern.

Why?
• The salon has direct access to galley or cockpit via separate entrance
• Natural light pours in through large port hull sliding doors and in aft starboard cabin
• Fly bridge designed as an "upper deck"
• Two steering wheels on the fly bridge for perfect visibility when sailing or maneuvering
• Flush decks and easy passage on wide side decks
• Numerous living areas where one can retire alone or in company of friends and family
• Forward facing chart table with ample room for electronics
• Variety of practical, well thought out layouts available
• Transom designed for easy access to water
• Crew cabins in port and starboard bow with own toilets heads/showers

Charter Exotic Waters…

It has been reported in recent sea trails in Fort Lauderdale, FL that it has reached 17 knots under sail. The peak performance under sail is complimented by the careful monitoring of displacement. The reasonable weight to length ratio guarantees stiffness and quality. Due to the Lagoon 620’s excellent sailing performance it now allows the ability to offer this catamaran in exotic charter waters of the Caribbean and Bahamas. For example a charter might take place in November in the Bahamas and then move to the Grenadines in December. She moves quick and offers great flexibility in terms of relocation for charter guests.

State of the art equipment
Expect Radio/CD/MP 3 players with surround sound in salon, cockpit and fly bridge.
Massive trampoline forward with seating of up to ten guests in the salon and cockpit.
Enjoy air conditioning throughout with your own control settings in your cabins.
Cockpit sides and aft sun canvas blocks the sun rays during those happy hour times and enjoy the marine nightlife with underwater spotlights.

You ask ‘How Much?”

Charter rates start from $22,500 for two and up to $29500 for 10 guests. Rates are based on 7 days. Gourmet meals, experienced crew, water sports, onboard entertainment and open bar are inclusive of this price.

Toronto International Boat Show Gets a Solid Start

The doors opened at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 9th for the 2010 Toronto International Boat Show and an impressive crush of boating enthusiasts filled the building. Although show organizers reported a minor reduction at the turnstiles from the 2009 show numbers, the floor was visibly busy all day and many people were carrying out bags of smaller items while an impressive number were with dealers, writing deals.

One dealer who carries lines of fishing, tow sports, express cruiser boats and personal watercraft, commented on Sunday night at the end of only the second day, that their sales were already ahead of 2009.

Other dealers were expressing early satisfaction with their results and if the traffic and sales pace holds through this 9 day show, the initial mood of optimism will be well justified. Even on Monday, traditionally a very quiet day, some dealers are at the table with customers.

More results will be available in Newsweek, next week. www.boatingindustry.com

On the charter front, Festiva Sailing Vacations and The Catamaran Company reports a positive vibe as the charter interest remains at a high. Several proposals have already been sent to customers interested in bareboat charter in the Caribbean. As the Canadian dollar is on par with the USD, it seems that a healthy sailing relationship between the two countries remain strong.
The Catamaran Company is offering 20% discount during low seasons with up to 10 -15% in high season. Festiva Sailing Vacations is offering ‘SAIL FOR FREE’, where a customer can purchase three cabins and get the fourth one free. This is available in any of their charter locations namely, BVI, ST Maarten and Grenadines.
